Uchechi Unamma stands at the powerful intersection of education, technology, and equity. As a dynamic leader, data professional, and global youth advocate, she leads transformative work that expands digital access and reimagines learning for underserved communities.

Currently based in Salt Lake City, Uchechi leverages her background in Information Systems (University of Utah) and Statistics (Abia State University) to develop impactful solutions that bridge the gap between education and innovation. She actively empowers students, educators, and policymakers through her grassroots programs, research, and capacity-building initiatives.

Uchechi serves as the Founder and Program Lead at Youths Creating Change (YCC), where she designs digital literacy programs that have reached over 500 students in Nigeria’s rural communities. She introduces no-code and low-code tools to first-time learners, helping them gain confidence in navigating the digital economy. Her work spotlighted by The Guardian, Vanguard, and Tribune—focuses on using technology that is simple, scalable, and accessible to all.

In professional roles, she has worked as a Statistician at the Public Complaints Commission, where she improved data systems and advised national ICT strategy. Across every role, she champions user-centered design, practical implementation, and measurable outcomes.

As a former Global Youth Ambassador and TEDx community leader, Uchechi speaks boldly about digital inclusion, gender equity in STEM, and sustainable innovation. Her research work includes studies on underrepresentation of women in politics and behavioral trends in digital content consumption. She combines technical skill with a passion for social change, driving conversations that inspire action in classrooms, boardrooms, and policy spaces.

At the 2024 Techest Hackathon, she serves as a judge in the Academic and Technology category, bringing her expertise to evaluate projects that blend educational value with scalable innovation. She looks for solutions that prioritize access, learning impact, and long-term viability—hallmarks of her own mission.

Uchechi brings to every stage a voice rooted in data, a mind tuned to innovation, and a heart committed to impact. Whether she is designing systems, leading workshops, or mentoring the next generation of changemakers, she proves that the future of education must be inclusive, localized, and tech-enabled.
